Mezzo soprano Giuseppina Piunti has been Carmen, Charlotte in Werther, Elizabeth in Donizetti's Maria Stuarda, Countess of Poggio in Verdi's Giorno di Regno, Margared in Lalo's Le roi d'Ys, Giulietta in Tales of Hoffmann, Adalgisa in Norma, Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos , Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana, Leonora in La Favorita as well as Tigrana in Puccini's Edgar, Desideria in Menotti's The Saint of Bleecker street, Duchessa d'Alba in Menotti's Goya, Sally Grant in Tutino's The Servant.

Mrs. Piunti sang at Teatro Massimo of Palermo, Teatro Comunale of Bologna, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, Rossini Opera Festival, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, as well as in Detroit, Lima, Mannheim, Giessen, Wiesbaden, Karlsruhe, Erfurt, Wexford Opera Festival, Glyndebourne, Siena, Savona, Messina, Opéra de Wallonie in Liège, Montpellier, Nancy, Santander, Cordoba, Toulon, Marseille, Macerata Opera Festival, Tokio...

2011 she made her debut at La Scala.

Seconding her passion to sing unusual but fascinating roles, she sang the title roles in G. Pacini's "Maria, Regina d´Inghilterra", in C. Gomes's “Fosca“ and Queen Isabella in Arieta's “La conquista di Granata” at the Stadttheater Giessen.

She was Carmen at the Opéra de Marseille, Tokyo and Sendai, Cagliari, Turin Teatro Regio and ABAO Bilbao in the suggestive Bieito production, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa in the new Davide Livermore production, teatro dell Opera in Rome in Sagi production.

She is well known also in Cina as Carmen, she performed several times in the role of the fatal gipsy at the NCPA in Beijing, Tianjin, Harbin, Haikou e Xiamen.

Mrs Piunti had great succeses as Amneris in the fascinating Zeffirelli production in Teatro Marrucino Chieti, Teatro Ventidio Basso Ascoli Piceno, Teatro dell' Aquila di Fermo; as Nina in G. Paisiello's Nina o sia la pazza per amore at the Paisiello Festival in Taranto and Savona; as Giorgietta in Puccini's Tabarro at Opéra de Tours; as Venus in Wagner's Tannhäuser at the NCPA Beijing; as Rosario in Granados's Goyescas at Teatro Regio in Turin, Maggio Musicale in Florence and Teatro San Carlo in Naples and as Santuzza at the Prince Mahidol Hall in Bangkok.

In the last years she was an acclaimed Carmen in south Corea Korea, made her debut as Maddalena and Suzuky in the theatres of Tianjin and Xiamen. In february 2020 she was for the first time Principessa di Bouillon in Adriana Lecouvreur (Giordano) at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa.

Last summer Mrs Piunti was an intense Maria in Maria de Buenos Aires by Astor Piazzolla in Savona, Trapani and Jesi.

After Puritani in South Korea – Daegou, Busan and Seoul - as Enrichetta di Francia, she perfomed at Teatro Lirico in Cagliari in the role of La vecchia cieca in the rarely executed opera “Cecilia” by Licinio Refice.
