Elisabetta Zizzo - soprano

Elisabetta Zizzo was born in Catania on 20/02/1991. At the age of 17 she graduated in piano followed by M ° M. Marvulli and in 2012 in opera singing with full marks and honors from the "Corelli" conservatory in Messina under the guidance of Maestro A. Mantovani. From 2006 to 2010 she studied modern and classical dance at CUS center in Messina and later at the academy of young talents of the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania. She participated in several masterclasses in piano and opera singing with F. Boscolo, Eva Mei, Fabio Armiliato, Rolando Panerai and Renata Lamanda, while winning several prizes in national and international piano and opera competitions.
She got first prize in the 2nd international competition "A voice for the opera", held in Polistena in May 2013; finalist in the 4th International Singing Competition Franca Mattiucci (2015) and in the 6th international opera competition “B. Franci” in Pienza (2015). On March 29, 2015, she performed the world premiere of "La polvere e l’acqua" for soprano, cello and electronic music, music by Maestro G. Antonaci and the text of N. Mauro, in the Basilica of St. Caterina in Galatina (LE). In April 2015 she enters as an actual student in the prestigious Puccini festival academy of "Torre del Lago", taking part in the production of the "Trittico" by G. Puccini. On 7 August 2015, during the "Festival Illica" of Castell’Arquato, she performed at the awarding concert of the famous soprano Daniela Dessì and the tenor Fabio Armiliato (Premio Illica). Still within the "Illica Festival" of Castell'Arquato, she debuted the role of "Giannetta" in the Elisir d'amore by G. Donizetti, directed by Rolando Panerai and conducted by Fabio Mastrangelo, getting unanimous critical acclaim.

Winner of a scholarship for the "Taormina Opera Stars", with the artistic direction of E. Stinchelli, she was selected among over 500 voices from all over the world to perform at the "Italia Incanta" gala evening in the ancient theater of Taormina.Reported among the best young voices of the Puccini academy, she has been invited to perform the roles of Annina in the "Traviata" and of Anna in the "Nabucco" at "Pompei Festival" together with exceptional artists such as Carlo Guelfi, Dimitra Theodossiou and Alfredo Zanazzo, in the beautiful theater of Pompeii, directed by E. Stinchelli and conducted by Maestro A. Veronesi.On December 20, 2015 she debuted the role of "Adina" in G. Donizetti's Elisir d'amore at the Bibiena theater in Mantua.In February 2016, she has been invited by the Puccini Foundation of Torre del Lago and by the National Theater "Ruben Dario" of Managua (Nicaragua) to perform Liu in G. Puccini's Turandot, directed by M. Scaparro and with the costumes by F. Squarciapino. In 2016 he debuted the role of "Musetta" in the Bohème by G. Puccini as part of the 62nd Puccini festival in Torre del Lago, a role performed also the following year. At New Year's Eve 2017 she has been invited by the theater of Kiel (Germany) to sing in a charity concert in favor of the earthquake victims of Abruzzo. Finally, the debut of the role of "Lisette" in G. Puccini's Rondine on the occasion of the centenary of the opera within the 63rd Puccini festival in Torre del Lago under the baton of Beatrice Venezi and directed by Plamen Kartaloff.In 2017 she attended the Accademia Verdiana in Parma and later she was awarded the Puccini "Young" award. During the summer of 2018 she made her debut at the Arena di Verona in the role of Anna (Nabucco) while at the Puccini Festival in the same year she debuted the role of Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi.

In 2019 she played the role of Nella in Gianni Schicchi at the Verona Philharmonic Theater. The next production will be at the Arena di Verona in the role of Ines in Trovatore alongside Anna Netrebko, Frasquita in Carmen and Anna in Nabucco at the Domingo Gala. At the Verdi Festival in Parma she will make her debut in 2019 as Anna in Nabucco and subsequently, again at the Filarmonico theater in Verona, Giannetta in the Elisir d´amore. In 2020   she was “ flower maiden” in Parsifal at the opening night , directed by Graham Vick and in summer Lauretta at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago . 

The same year she debuted the role of Nedda ( Pagliacci ) at the Capri Opera Festival . 

In summer 2021 she went back to the Arena of Verona as Anna in Nabucco and this year she will be again Anna at the Arena of Verona and Teatro Massimo of Palermo.

In the season 2022-23 She debutes the role of Barbarina at the Teatro Filarmonico of Verona , Clotilde at the teatro Massimo of Palermo and this summer she will be again Anna at the arena of Verona and il Paggio in new Rigoletto’s production.
