Christopher Jessup - Composer
Signed to GRAMMY® Award-winning Navona Records and educated at the prestigious Juilliard School, composer and pianist Christopher Jessup is acclaimed for his “imaginative handling of atmosphere” [Fanfare], his “beautiful, sensitive phrasing” [New York Concert Review], and his “sagacious, well-designed” music [EarRelevant]. Jessup has collaborated with some of the foremost ensembles and soloists in the world. He has performed at Carnegie Hall numerous times, recorded an extensive discography, and concertized throughout North America and Europe, garnering widespread praise from audiences and critics alike.
Jessup’s compositions have been performed and recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra, the Brno Contemporary Orchestra, the Juilliard Orchestra, the Kühn Choir of Prague, the National Sawdust Ensemble, Hélène Grimaud, Allison Brewster Franzetti, Brett Deubner, and countless others. His works are published by Noten Roehr Frankfurt. Upcoming engagements for the 2023-24 season include a solo work for flutist Lindsey Goodman, which will be premiered at Carnegie Hall, as well as projects with The Crossing and the New York Virtuoso Singers.
Jessup has received innumerable awards and accolades, including a Global Music Award, a One Earth Award, a LIT Talent Award, two Clouzine International Music Awards, and a National Sawdust BluePrint Fellowship. Additionally, he was a featured “Young Classical Star” on renowned English radio host Charlotte Hawkins’ Classic FM series in 2022.
Jessup studied under the tutelage of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Melinda Wagner and fabled pianist Jerome Lowenthal at The Juilliard School. He currently works as an Associate Executive Producer with PARMA Recordings and is represented by Lombardo Associates.
